Hello all! Some may know me from other forums, my usual avatar is of Don Gentile, but I thought I'd change it up a bit.
A little about me. I originally hail from northeastern New York State. Primarily the Lake George region, (think "Last of the Mohicans"), and have been a history fanatic as long as I can remember. Everything from the French & Indian War through the American Revolution, was fought in the area I grew up in. I'm a US Army Military Police veteran, (1985-1994), stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC, where I also work currently. Like most, I started building models in my early teens, slowed down a bit when I found out girls and cars were more fun, stopped completely when I entered service in '85 and started up again around 12 years ago.
I've been building 1/35 scale armor and dioramas for the last 5-6 years, most of which I have donated to various units at Bragg for their "history rooms", or given to friends for mementos. In the last year or so, I've been building 1/32 aircraft, as armor was starting to burn me out. I haven't entirely stopped though. I still have 3 1/2 crewmen to build for a M7 Priest diorama, and a friend of mine is a StuG III freak, so I'm sure one of those will make it's way to my bench soon.
I've also started construction on my newest HO model railroad layout, and hope to incorporate some display shelves into the bench supports for my behemoth 1/32 B-17G, and 1/32 B-25H. Both of which are still awaiting construction.
I love to learn, and share what I've learned over the years. Looking forward to sharing with you all!
